Myke
Stott (BSc,Msc,Phd,MIM)
Following
a short period working
for British Telecom
Research at its
Microelectronics
Division in Ipswich,
Myke joined Camvac
Europe Limited (now
Rexam Metallising)
in June 1982.Myke
joined Camvac as
a development scientist
within the Technical
Department working
on process characteristics
of products and
improvements of
general process
parameters.In June
1984 he graduated
to Technical Manager,taking
on the responsibility
for specification
and commissioning
of new plant.In
1988 the role of
Technical Manager
was incorporated
with that of Production
Manager,with the
full responsibility
for day to day production
and quality control.Design
and Maintenance
Engineering were
added to this role
in 1989 with a new
Engineering Manager
reporting to production.In
1990 he was installed
as Production Director
and as such had
full control and
responsibility for
all aspects of production,engineering,technical,planning,quality
control and safety.During
the period from
1993-1995 £4
Million of new plant
was purchased and
installed.The culmination
of this work were
results in 1993
and 1994 that were
so far the best
recorded.In March
1995 he left Camvac
to start Ultimet
Films Limited with
his two colleagues.
Andrew
Mitchell
After
a few years working
for Hazlewood Foods
in the Quality Control
area,Andrew joined
Bonar Flexibles
in Derby in 1985.Initially
working in the quality
control department
he was responsible
for setting up and
maintaining stringent
quality control
procedures for the
firms medical packaging
business.After three
years in this role
he moved into the
Research and Development
department where
he was responsible
for the development
and testing of new
products from production
through to trials
on customer machines.At
Bonar experience
was gained in Gravure
Printing,Adhesive
Lamination ,Extrusion
Lamination,Coating
and Metallising.
In 1990 following
the partnership
with Bonar and Teich,
he was involved
in the transfer
of the foil printing
Dairy and Pharmaceutical
business from Crawley
to Derby. In Otober
1990 Andrew joined
Cavmac Europe Limited
(now Rexam Metallising)
as Technical Manager.In
this role he was
responsible for
process and product
improvements.During
this period he also
was involved in
the development
of and scale up
to production of
the Aluminium Oxide
coated product.An
extensive barrier
analysis was carried
out to evaluate
the affect of different
coatings on barrier
levels. In 1993
the role of Production
Manager was incorporated
into that of Technical
Manager with responsibility
for 90 people on
a four shift system
7 days a week.In
June 1995 he left
Camvac to set up
Ultimet Films with
his two colleagues.
Keith
Williams
Keith
started his career
at Camvac in 1973.Initially
he worked in the
capacitor division
operating a metallising
machine producing
thin films from
1 micron to 19 micron
thick with a striped
pattern.These films
were then slit down
into narrow widths
down to 4.5mm for
use in the AC/DC
capacitor market
in the UK and Europe.In
1978 he progressed
into a management
role within the
same department
taking on full responsibility
for planning,materials
control,purchasing
and despatch.In
1988 due to world
market pressures
within the capacitor
division coupled
with lack of investment,the
capacitor tapes
division was closed
down.Keith then
moved over to the
Flexible Packaging
Division as Quality
Control Manager
responsible for
the shift QC and
the lab testing
facilities. This
role also developed
to include Technical
Service contact
with both Suppliers
and Customers.Keith
left Camvac in 1995
to set up Ultimet
Films with his two
colleagues.
